The Jakubik Law Firm concentrates its practice on appellate
litigation in the state and federal courts. The firm has handled
appeals in a broad array of substantive areas, including commercial
matters, such as breach of contract and business tort cases, civil
RICO, criminal matters, administrative appeals, constitutional law,
insurance, trusts and estates, church property and the law of
religious organizations and matters involving complex issues of
statutory construction. The firm also maintains an active "issues
consulting" practice, which includes the handling of matters ranging
from the preparation of formal legal opinion letters and objective
memoranda of law on discrete legal issues, to consulting with trial
or transactional counsel on legal issues, to assisting interested
parties in analyzing and offering comments to proposed legislation
and administrative rules. In this regard, the firm lends assistance
to trial lawyers both before and after litigation has been commenced
by helping to structure legal strategy, consulting on the preparation
of briefs, motions and jury instructions, as well as other research
needs, and preserving and molding legal issues for appeal. The firm
also assists attorneys and law firms, of whatever size, with their
complete range of legal research and writing needs.
In addition to its core practice, the firm also takes on a limited
number of litigation matters as trial counsel, primarily concentrated
on matters involving commercial issues, intra-entity disputes, and
controversies involving religious organizations, as well as selected
business transactional matters.
